Twist Gallery Wedding
Jen and Darren used to live just down the street from each other, but they first met online and only then they realize that they are practically neighbors… and they also have so much in common, Jen described it with this beautiful Dr. Seuss’ quote: “We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
For their wedding, they really just wanted it to be a fun party with all of their friends & family there… with lots of great food, drinks and music (and lots of dancing)! Neither of them is very traditional, so they didn’t want a typical wedding either: no veil, no wedding cake, no bouquet toss, no proper aisle or “wedding music” and they wanted to walk in together. When we talked about their wedding day Jen asked me two things: one: if we can shoot the first time she will meet Darren in front of the coffee shop where they first met (in real life) which is 2 minute walk from their home and the other request was that she don’t think they will be very natural with the “romantic pics” (her words) and if i can shoot their portraits just outside Twist gallery where we can do more urban photos, graffiti, alleyways, street shots, and even a super tacky bar with a zombie Elvis head and velvet paintings! Of course I said yes. This is the story of their Twist gallery wedding.
