Sunnyside Beach Toronto Engagement Photos – Caroline & Graeme
The first day of summer was the perfect time to have the engagement photo session with Caroline and Graeme. Just down the street from where I used to live, the serene Sunnyside Beach boardwalk is an ideal place to relax by the water. It was great to hop over and spend a fun afternoon with them as there’s nothing but good vibes with these two. During the session, I felt like I was taking a pleasant walk with friends. Afterward, we got beers and enjoyed the warm and pleasant summer breeze together.
These two beautiful souls met at a conference in 2009. As Graeme recalls, “we both had plans to save the world one cause at a time. I was a group leader and she (Caroline) was a representative from the University of Ottawa.” He approached her with the dazzling complement of ‘nice dress’ and “the wheels were in motion.” That night, they found out they both loved to dance and after a few songs, they were “both infatuated.” However, it wasn’t really until 2012 that their relationship took off after Caroline moved to Toronto from Ottawa. And they continued their dance from there.
When not cutting a rug on the dance floor, Graeme and Caroline love exploring the world and new cuisines. In an email Graeme wrote to me, he said “Caro and I love to eat! We do our best to make food at home but often find ourselves making excuses for why we should go out and try the newest restaurant”. On any given night, you can probably find them rooting for Toronto sports teams, spending time with family, and playing with their adorable puppy, Pearl.
One of my favourite parts of being a wedding photographer is getting a chance to know the couple during their engagement session. I get an opportunity to spend time with them in a meaningful space while building a rapport. When you already know the couple before the wedding, you’re no longer strangers, you’re friends who get to share jokes, stories and a genuine excitement for their big day.
