Ontario Family Farm Wedding
Dylan and Aaron were married on Dylan’s grandparent’s farm in Schomberg, Ontario surrounded by their closest friends and family. The two met back in 2015 in Washington, D.C. when both were feeling apathetic towards dating and thought “the apps” would be a good way to pass the time. Dylan had a game going with a friend where they would go on one date a week until they could find someone they liked enough to go on three dates with. In late August 2015 the two started chatting, Dylan liked that Aaron did Teach for America and thought he looked cute in his pictures. Aaron thought Dylan was hot, and from there they decided to meet for a drink. Aaron suggested the two meet at 9:15 pm on a Wednesday. That was the time Dylan usually got into bed so she asked if they could meet earlier. Aaron said, “what about 8:45” and Dylan responded with, “what’s with your time increments? So D.C!” It wasn’t off to a great start. They settled on 8:30 pm and Aaron showed up promptly. Dylan arrived closer to the original time of 9:15 and Aaron was about to leave. But alas! Dylan arrived, the two met, and what started with a friendly game and some texting turned into a four hour evening – 2 bottles of wine and a sidewalk makeout! The two spent every day together for the next year and then moved to New York together in August of 2016. Aaron proposed a year after moving in together, by attaching the engagement ring to their dog Poppy’s collar.
The wedding evening was magical – guests watched an outdoor ceremony as they sat on hay bales, ate farm-to-table food and danced to an incredible 90s hip-hop cover band. The night ended with late night McDonalds Nuggets (the grooms only wedding suggestion) and shuttle buses back to Toronto in the wee hours.
