Banff Adventure Session
When I heard Carly and Josh love the outdoors and have always wanted to travel together to the west coast of Canada, I asked them: “do you love hiking?” We quickly found ourselves planning their Banff adventure session, excited to see it for the first time while catching the tail end of the summer, or so we thought.
A few days before the trip we already knew that though it was September, Alberta had skipped fall and went straight into winter. Luckily for me, Carly and Josh didn’t let this hold them back.
On our first day, we hiked the Eiffel Lake Trail. The trail is 11 kilometres long and was probably the most beautiful trail I have ever hiked. We got to Moraine Lake (the start of the trail) before sunrise and planned to start walking at first light. When first light hit the mountains, the view of the magnificent mountains surrounding Moraine Lake was unreal and left us all in awe. The overwhelming view left me not knowing what I want to shoot first, so I just put the camera down, looked at that raw, beautiful view and try to take it all in. We all agreed that hiking this snow-covered trail was something that we wouldn’t forget for years to come.
On our second day, we started at Lake Louise, hiking up the Lake Agnes trail. This trail takes you to the Lake Agnes Tea House which was built by the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1901 as a refuge for hikers. Having a place to warm up, drink some tea (or chocolate milk!) and eat apple crumble in the middle of the mountains is an experience I highly recommend!
If you are a couple that loves adventure and has a different idea of what your engagement photos should look like, I would love to chat.
